In addition to the University’s required application materials, applicants should review the information below for additional expectations or application requirements. We require a Statement of Purpose of at least one page explaining past research, academic, and leadership activities and accomplishments, reasons for personal interest in graduate study in physics and/or astronomy, and any extra information you would like us to take into account to properly evaluate your application. We are particularly looking for evidence of your independence, determination, and other qualities that lead to success in graduate school. Your specific fit with our graduate research program in Physics and Astronomy at UNC Chapel Hill is also of interest. We require a Resume/CV. Note that this should contain information about student’s research output (including publications and oral and poster presentations), as well as research activities and their specific duration, and all leadership, outreach, educational/teaching, or other extracurricular activities, and awards or recognitions. |
