The 2.5 GPA entrance requirement is mandated by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and is not negotiable. If you do not have a 2.5 GPA at the time of your application but there is a strong possibility that you may have a 2.5 GPA before you would enter the School of Education please contact Kara GrawOzburn, Assistant Director of Student Affairs, to discuss your specific situation and the likelihood that you will or will not be able to enter the School of Education.To help us understand your commitment to the teaching profession and to children, we would like you to provide two pieces of information:
The committee will be interested in both volunteer experiences and those required as part of a program. For extra-curricular activities at UNC-Chapel Hill, describe any special roles you have fulfilled, such as being an officer or heading a committee. Some of this information could be included in either the essay or the resume.

A standard resume is required for all applications. Please be sure to include your experiences working with children, jobs, volunteer efforts, and extra-curricular activities, along with the duration of each experience.

For the major academic concentration, students select among: The Arts All application materials including letters of recommendation and matched official test scores (if required), must be received by the application deadline. Applications that are incomplete after the deadline will NOT be reviewed for admission. All application materials are submitted electronically. Applicants are responsible for monitoring their application status and ensuring that their application, including letters of recommendation and official test scores (if required), is complete by the application deadline. Failure to do so will result in your application not being reviewed for admission. |
